Australasian Zoo and Aquarium Association follows new direction with 2018 Conference announcement
Having appointed Nicola Craddock as its new Executive Director in the second half of 2017, the Australasian Zoo and Aquarium Association has announced that its 24th Conference will be hosted by Wellington Zoo from 21st to 24th May 2018.
To be held at the Museum of New Zealand/Te Papa Tongarewa, the conference aims to explore the opportunities and importance of working in partnership to deliver outcomes for animals, the community and the planet.
The annual Conference will be Association’s first with Craddock at the helm.
When announcing her appointment, Australasian Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) President Kevin Tanner stated “Nicola Craddock was the outstanding candidate in a large field of excellent applicants.
“Nicola brings a wealth of experience from a range of roles operating across Australia and New Zealand.
“Her most recent position was as the Chief Commercial Officer for Roadshow Films, a division of Village Roadshow Ltd. Her roles have included strategic business development, operations, stakeholder management, financial management, advocacy, environmental sustainability, marketing and strategy.
“In the past, Nicola has worked with WWF’s Earth Hour to take the program from being an Australian-only initiative to a global campaign. Other roles where she has contributed to social responsibility have included teaching ethics at schools and volunteer programs, WWF projects and fundraising for the Starlight Foundation.
“The ZAA Board is extremely pleased that Nicola has accepted this critical leadership role for the Association and looks forward to working with her to harness a range of opportunities and produce excellent strategic and operational outcomes for the zoo and aquarium sector in Australasia.”
The ZAA Conference Committee is currently inviting submissions on any topics related to collaboration and the value of partnerships.
