ATEC backs businesses affected by Margaret River bushfires

The Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) has extended its support and best wishes to the tourism operators of the Margaret River area of Western Australia.

ATEC Managing Director, Felicia Mariani told Australasian Leisure Management "the Margaret River is one of Australia's most extraordinary tourism experiences and ATEC extends its support to those businesses affected by the bushfires in the region.

"While this fire has caused some localised damage, it is important to get the message out that only a small part of the region is affected and operators will be back to business immediately following containment of the fire."

Mariani said ATEC had many members in the Margaret River and the Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund was a good way to support those affected, adding "the Lord Mayor's fund is a well structured and centralised relief fund that can help the community recover from these fires quickly."
