ASPA sport leadership playbook resource shares a ‘thousand years’ of experience

The Australian Sports Professionals Association is currently releasing a series of ‘teaser’ interviews from its Leadership Playbook for Australian Sport.

Launched in September last year, the publication sees 20 chief executives from state, territory and national sporting organisations share their key lessons and learnings on topics including leading teams, mentoring, volunteer management, resilience and mental health and hiring staff.

Introducing the publication, Australian Sports Professionals Association (ASPA) advise in a statement “all of us are leaders at some point in our lives. Sport is no different - with captains, coaches, umpires and professional staff; each with their lessons for the next person in that role, or their team, or their sport more generally.”

The 20 chief executive in the book come from a range of sports across Australia. The 10 women and 10 men represent each state and territory of the country with each of them boasting a broad range of backgrounds.

ASPA add “their experience working in sport totals over one thousand years, from which, key insights and philosophies have been summarised into this book for you.”
