Asian Attractions Expo Moves to Singapore in 2011

As Asia's premier conference and trade show for the attractions industry in Asia closed on Friday, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced that the Asian Attractions Expo 2011 will be held at the convention centre at Singapore's new destination resort, Resorts World Sentosa, from 21st to 24th June next year.

The event will be held at the recently completed Resorts World Sentosa.

Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) is the leading event for the multibillion-dollar leisure and attractions industry in Asia. Organisers anticipate more than 3,000 professionals from 40 countries will participate in the event. Owners and managers representing amusement and theme parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, museums, science centers, family entertainment centers, casinos, and resorts will develop and purchase new attractions and products for their facilities, see whatâs new in the industry, learn about industry best practices, and network with colleagues.

More than 200 exhibitors from 25 countries will showcase innovative products and services in nearly 100 product categories, including amusement and theme park rides; architectural and design services; coin-operated games, skill games, and redemption prizes; theatrical productions; maintenance services and equipment; and more.

The four-day event will also feature educational programs, keynote speeches by industry leaders, and networking events.

Ranked as the 'Top Convention City in Asia' by the Union of International Associations for more than 20 years, Singapore will offer AAE participants remarkable culture, state-of-the-art attractions, energetic nightlife, and first-class convention facilities in this dynamic world-class travel destination. Before and after the Expo, participants will be able to experience the new Universal Studios Singapore; visit the city's museums, performing arts centres, and botanic gardens; relax and unwind in luxurious spas; enjoy breathtaking views of Marina Bay from the 'Singapore Flyer' observation wheel; and learn the fascinating story behind the Maritime Silk Route and Singapore's shipping port at Resorts World Sentosa's new Maritime Xperiental Museum.

IAAPA's President and Chief Executive Charles Bray explains that "we are very excited about taking Asian Attractions Expo to Singapore in 2011.

"The attractions industry is growing at a tremendous rate in Asia and that growth is exemplified in the brand-new, world-class Resorts World Sentosa. The convention and meeting facilities at Resorts World Sentosa are first class and provide the ideal setting for attendees and exhibitors to conduct their business. Plus, I know everyone will enjoy exploring all Singapore has to offer before and after the show."

Resorts World Sentosa was featured in the March/April 2010 issue of Australasian Leisure Management.
