ASCTA 2020 prepares sector in ‘Going for Gold’
Reaching the final planning stages of its 2020 Convention, the Australian Swim Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) event has theme ‘Going for Gold’ - in preparation and anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics for the nation’s swim coaches, teachers and swim schoolers.
Being presented over four days, from 30th April to 3rd May at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, the ‘ASCTACON20’ is the leading conference in Australia for swim coaches, teachers and swim schools.
Keynote speakers and presenters include Olympic Gold medallist Michael Klim, respected swim coach Sweetenham; Carol Fox, President of Women Sport Australia; John Rudd, Swim Ireland Director of Swimming; Mike Koleber, President of the American Swimming Coaches Association and a host of Australia’s leading coaches including Michael Bohl, Simon Cusack, and Chris Mooney.
ASCTACON20 will also feature a Gold Medal Breakfast of Olympic Champions hosted by Laurie Lawrence and ASCTA Gala awards which will recognise top coaches, teachers and swim schools will be hosted by Duncan Armstrong (1988 Olympic gold medallist).
Other special guests will include Dawn Fraser.
Tickets to attend the highly-anticipated Awards Gala Dinner are included in four-day registrations and offer delegates the opportunity to glam up, indulge in a delectable selection of contemporary cuisine and dance the night away as we join to celebrate the achievements of mentors and peers.
The conference has a variety of education courses and professional development available for all levels including upskilling courses for coaches and teachers.
ASCTACON20 will also offer four days of coaching streams covering practical, high performance and age group coaching.
There are also two days dedicated to swim school managers and operators and two days dedicated to swimming teacher professional development to provide the best all round program for our aquatic community.
ASCTACON20 will also feature the ‘4 Coaches/4 Corners’ day at Miami Pool provides four hours of skills and drills from Australia best coaches Tracey Menzies (Ian Thorpe’s Coach) and Leigh Nugent (Swimming Australia Head Coach 2004 and 2012 Olympic Team) with two international coaches - John Rudd and Mike Koleber.
