ARV urges Victorians to 'Play it Safe by the Water' this summer
With Water Safety Week in full swing, Aquatics & Recreation Victoria (ARV) is organising an open water lesson at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron tomorrow (Wednesday 5th December) to promote the VICSWIM Summer Kidz Program and Water Safety Week.
Water Safety Week, which runs from 1st to 9th December, is a key part of the longstanding statewide 'Play it Safe by the Water' campaign funded by the Victorian Government.
The event will see 'Vic' the VICSWIM Summer Kidz mascot supervising young swimmers as they go through their paces under the watchful eye of Judy Muir, an outstanding aquatic education and water safety teacher from the Mornington Peninsula and lifelong contributor to the industry.
Water Safety Week sees a wide range of organisations and agencies across Victoria provide people of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to participate in a range of water safety activities in a variety of environments.
ARV is calling on facilities to take advantage of all opportunities to promote the water safety message.
