ARV Industry Conference to encourage aquatic managers to do things better

With the theme ‘Doing it Better’ the 2014 Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) Conference is to cover two distinct streams –strategic issues along with current operational matters that will provide delegates with key practical and current advice. 

To be held at on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th August 2014 at the Melbourne Park Function Centre, the Conference will showcase high profile speakers and industry specialists. 

Key topics being address include:

• Managing service contracts and partnerships
• Social obligations and benefits of aquatic, recreation and leisure centres
• Motivating and engaging a changing workforce
• Health club and swim school operations
• Asset management
• Natural pools
• Providing safer aquatic and recreation facilities
• Current research on economic and health benefits of facilities
• Business and pricing models
• Previous ARV Industry Award winners

On Wednesday 27th August, prior to the first day of the conference, ARV will host a Melbourne Tour which will include site visits to some of Australia’s newest, most impressive and redeveloped aquatic and recreation facilities including:

• The new Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Frankston
• The redeveloped Noble Park Aquatic Centre
• The refurbished Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre
