Architects announced for redevelopment of 2026 Commonwealth Games venue the Eureka Stadium in Ballarat
The Victorian Government has appointed Cox Architecture and Ballarat firm Morton + Co Architects to lead the project from concept design phase through to detailed design and construction, so that Eureka Stadium is ready to host the Athletics & Para Athletics.
The North Ballarat Football Club Development Project and Ballarat Grammar School Sports Centre are among Morton + Co Architects’ extensive portfolio of local projects.
A new athletics track will be built at the site and the stadium will be expanded to hold an additional 5,000 permanent seats, with improved accessibility.
These upgrades will mean a bigger and better experience for spectators at Eureka Stadium in the years to come, ensuring Ballarat continues to attract major events.
For the Commonwealth Games, additional temporary seats will be installed as well as a competition standard track on the existing playing field.
It is estimated the Commonwealth Games will contribute more than $3 billion to Victoria’s economy.
