Aquatics, parks and recreation sectors combine for South Australian industry conference
Industry sectors in South Australia have combined to stage a joint aquatics, parks and recreation conference on 7th and 8th April at Adelaide's Morphettville Racecourse.
The combined conference results from a decision by the Aquatics Advisory Committee of Recreation South Australia (Recreation SA) to combine the annual South Australian Aquatic conference with the Recreation and Parks conference.
With the theme 'Learn, Grow, Innovate, Motivate - 10 Ideas to Transform My Sector', a Recreation SA spokesperson explained that "combining the two events will allow a greater spread of speakers who can provide information common to all recreation sectors, attract greater numbers and allow networking across the industries."
Confirmed speakers for the event include:
• Rod Hook, Chief Executive, South Australia Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure
• Keith Thomas, Chief Executive, Port Adelaide Football Club
• Professor Rick Sarre, School of Law, University of South Australia
• Mike Eubank, Colorado USA - Bike Trails
• Steven Trigg, Chief Executive, Adelaide Football Club
Sessions will include:
• Aquatic Round table what is happening in the industry?
• How to attract older people to recreation?
• Senior management panel what is the future of recreation in local government?
