Aquatic and Recreation Institute NSW announces organisational and staff changes
The Aquatic and Recreation Institute NSW (ARI NSW) has announced operational changes with Louise Magee resigned as Events and Sponsorship Coordinator and Colin Kane stepping down as Chairperson.
Magee, whose last day with ARI NSW will be on 3rd March 2021, is leaving to take on a new role with Royal Life Saving Society - Australia (NSW).
In a statement on Magee’s departure, ARI advised “the ARI NSW Board would like to formally thank Louise for the service she has provided to the members and Board members both past and present over the past decade.
“She has developed many wonderful friendships during her time working with the ARI and she looks forward to continuing these relationships.
“We wish Louise all the best as she takes on a full-time position with Royal Life Saving NSW.”
Kane, Operations Manager at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, has also, as of 22nd February, stepped down as ARI NSW Chairperson and announced he will not be renominating as a Director at the next AGM.
The ARI statement advised “the ARI NSW Board would like to formally thank Colin for his time as Chairperson and prior to that as President.”
Election of Nichole Edsall as new Chairperson
Following Kane’s resignation as Chairperson, the Board has unanimously elected Nichole Edsall as Chairperson of ARI NSW.
Having joined as a Director of the Board in August 2020, Edsall (pictured) has over 25 years of experience in the aquatic and recreation industry and is currently Key Venues, Chief Operations Manager at Blacktown City Council.
Future ARI NSW events
With the current unpredictable COVID-19 environment the way ARI NSW has delivered conferences and events in the past will change.
It advises “the Board is committed to organising events that will allow our corporate partners to showcase their products and network, as well for members to be given the opportunity to network and learn new skills.”
ARI NSW will be launching a series of events over the next few months with more information to be released shortly.
