Aquamoves encourages Shepparton community to play for wellness
Shepparton aquatic and recreation facility Aquamoves is to host a special ‘Play for Wellness’ session as of tomorrow - 3rd November.
The one-off class is free for members of the community to attend and will be facilitated by trainer Duncan McDaide from ‘The FUNctional Project,’ treating participants to an hour of unique and creative high intensity interval training.
Aquamoves Centre Manager Marcus Cook has organised the session in order to highlight the significant positive impact ‘play’ can have on people’s overall health and wellness.
Cook explains “we all lead busy lives and it’s very easy to fall into the trap of working around the clock, completely neglecting our physical and emotional wellbeing.”
“This session is about recognising the need to step away from the daily grind and de-stress; noting one of the best ways to do this is simply by adding a bit of fun and fitness back into life.”
Cook said it is important to realise that making time for ‘play’ not only helps people feel better, but will also allow their bodies to function more effectively when we do return to work.
Cook adds “kids seem to instinctively understand the need for play, but somehow we tend to lose this when we become adults.
“I have no doubt that people who aren’t used to the experience will notice an immediate difference in the way they feel.”
The FUNctional Project is a Melbourne based experience driven functional training studio who use a unique blend of science and silliness to create their workouts.
