APOLA partnership sees growth of annual conference to cover wider elements of local government coastal safety

Counting down to its 2025 annual conference, the Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguard Association Incorporated (APOLA) has partnered with the Randwick City Council and the Coastal Safety Group to expand the event to run over two days.

To be held at the Heffron Centre in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra on 1st and 2nd May, the Local Government Coastal Safety Conference 2025 aims to support leaders and stakeholders in local government coastal safety to build on the capability of local government lifeguard services.

APOLA explain that “the event will be of interest not only for lifeguards and others with a brief in managing risk and safety in public open space including beaches, pools and other waterways, but also others involved in safety education for people choosing to visit these aquatic locations.”

Day one of the Conference includes:

Local Government Lifeguard Services
Find out what’s been happening in Local Government Lifeguarding including service reviews, statistics and visitation profiles.
