Anytime Fitness marks fourth anniversary and 200th club opening

Anytime Fitness Australia, part of the world's largest 24 hour co-ed fitness franchise, is celebrating two huge milestones today.

Tuesday (16th October) sees the company celebrate the fourth anniversary of its launch into Australia, which also coincides with their 200th club opening, opened by successful multi franchisee Gavin Wanganeen in the Melbourne suburb of Essendon.

The club is the his third Anytime Fitness franchise for the former Australian Rules football player and Brownlow Medallist, and opens a year after his first club opening.

Wanganeen explains "when I came across the Anytime Fitness model, it was a no brainer to me. The support is there to make it happen smoothly and effectively, and the fact that it's a 24hour concept appealed to me too. "

Essendon has a lot of significance for me personally, as my first six years in the AFL were spent just around the corner from my Keilor Road Anytime Fitness site, at the Essendon Football Club."

The club's master franchisees for Australia, the brother-and-sister team of Justin McDonell and Jacinta McDonell-Jimenez, are proud to announce of the 200th club opening, Justin McDonell explaining "we are now aiming to open 400 clubs nationally so are very happy to have reached our half way mark, especially as it lands on our fourth anniversary.

"Gavin Wanganeen is a great example of someone who has made a successful career change to the Anytime Fitness franchise business."

Jacinta McDonell-Jimenez adds "our most successful franchisees focus on sales and marketing and hire a terrific club manager to produce an ideal club culture. Our clubs offer the members what they need great equipment, personal attention, and convenient and affordable facilities, open anytime."

The duo believe their key to rapid growth is the freedom they offer to suit the franchisees lifestyle, freedom to grow within the system, and the confidence that comes with knowing they have the support, product development and back-up of the world's fastest growing fitness club franchise.

Justin McDonell and Jacinta McDonell-Jimenez launched the highly successful USA franchise into Australia in 2008. Since the launch of Anytime Fitness into Australia it has become the quickest growing segment of the world's fastest growing fitness chain, with over 1,900 clubs and 1.5 million members' worldwide.

The franchise continues to strengthen and grow its brand through the recently launched health and fitness online portal, Anytime Health, designed to enable consumers to make positive and lasting lifestyle changes through 24/7 online support.

The success of Anytime Fitness has been recognised in the 2012 BRW Fast Starters issue which listed Anytime Fitness Australia at number 34 in the top 100 fastest growing companies in the country.
