Albany Creek Health Club Opens to the Community
A $3 million health club has opened at the Albany Creek Leisure Centre.
After 18 months of planning, negotiations and development the health club extensions and centre improvements were opened last Friday by Moreton Bay Regional Councillors Mike Charlton and Mick Gillam along with Council Chief Executive John Rauber and Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Adrian Johnston.
The project represents a significant partnership between the Council and Belgravia Leisure to deliver improved leisure facilities to the community.
In addition to the substantial aquatic facilities on offer, Albany Creek Leisure Centre now boasts an enlarged gym floor, group fitness studio, spin cycle studio, gentle exercise and stretching room and dedicated change rooms.
The new fitness wing also incorporates expanded child care facilities catering for up to 30 children at any given time. A new centre entry has been created along with state of the art physiotherapy facilities and relocated administration area.
Last Saturday an open day at the Centre attracted more than 2,000 visitors enjoying a wide range of free activities including demo classes, assessments, fire twirlers, salsa dancing and train rides for children.
