Al Ain opens surf pool in the desert

The Gulf Emirate of Al Ain has welcomed Wadi Adventure, the Middle East's first man made white water rafting, kayaking and artificial surf facility.

Located at the base of Jebel Hafeet, Wadi Adventure iis a multi-activity park which includes rafting and kayaking (runs with a combined length of 1,133 metre), surfing (a 127 meters long wave pool capable of generating 3.3 metre breaking barrel waves every 90 seconds), Airpark (which includes airpark with 18 obstacles, zip line, climbing wall and a giant swing) as well as a family swimming pool, children's splash area and lessons for all levels and skills, across all of the activities.

With the Summit Events Centre, the 126,000 metre2 Wadi Adventure focuses on both corporate and leisure activities and plans to provide a versatile event space for corporate meetings, business luncheons, team buildings and social events of any kind.

The centrepiece of Wadi Adventure is a new surf pool sited in desert sands. Local and international surfers can enjoy the machine powered waves from 12pm, in 55-minute surf sessions that can accomodate up to six riders, choosing between left and right surfable waves. The waves can also be selected and tuned, to suit beginners or experienced surfers.

Citizens of Al Ain, the United Arab Emirates and tourists are already enjoying this unique, exciting and joyful park.
