Ajman to develop waterfront resort city
The Government of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates has unveiled plans for a major leisure resort to be developed by the Al Zorah Development Company, a joint venture between the Government and Soldiere International.
The resort will have a city centre with hotels, offices, retail and marinas, six beachfront hotels, a golf course, restaurants, a spa, a beach club with swimming pools and residential property.
The first part of the development is a five-star hotel designed by the Italian architect Piero Lissoni in collaboration with the NORR Group. Stretching on an area of over 100,000 metres2, the resort will have a waterfront frontage of 290 metres, and over 154 individual rooms, private suites, and villas.
The first phase of the development also includes aan attraction, provisionally name the 'Mangrove of the World Theme Park' to be developed in collaboration with the leading consulting company BRC.
With an area of just 260 kilometres2, Ajman is the smallest of the United Arab Emirates. It is bordered on its north, south, and east by Sharjah.
