AFL Legend to address Sports Business Taskforce

The future of AFL on Queensland's Gold Coast is set to be debated at the Gold Coast Sports Business Taskforce's mid-year lunch on Wednesday 17th June.

Special guest speaker and AFL legend 'lethal' Leigh Matthews (voted the best AFL player of the 20th Century) will address the lunch, sharing the stage with the Gold Coast Football Club's Coach Guy McKenna and Chief Operating Officer Scott Munn.

With the Gold Coast set to host the 17th AFL Licence, in addition to the Gold Coast Titans and its new A-league team, South East Queensland is an increasingly competitive sports market. Leigh, Guy and Scott will discuss the long-term future of AFL in this environment.

Hosted by NBN Television personality Shan Veivers, the lunch will support the Mater Prostate Cancer Research Centre and the Mater Foundation.

The lunch, being held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, offers the chance for the local business and sporting communities to network with industry leaders from across the region.

The Taskforce is sponsored by Southern Cross University and supported by Westpac Business Bank Gold Coast, the Gold Coast City Council, NBN Television, The Mater Foundation and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Tickets cost $95 each or $900 for a table of ten (including booking fees) are now available from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre Box Office on 07 5504 4000 or online at www.gccec.com.au
