Adelaide runners enjoy a splash of colour

Almost 14,000 runners have taken part in The Color Run event held at Victoria Park Racecourse on Sunday (14th September).

The event, also known as the 'Happiest 5k on the Planet' saw runners race around a course while being doused in different coloured powder.

The non competitive five-kilometre run is aimed to celebrate healthiness, happiness and individuality. Runners start at one end of the race completely clean, and come out the other side a veritable rainbow of splattered paints.

The Color Run events have been held in over 30 countries since 2011.

The Adelaide event was the first in a series with the next Color Run to take place in Townsville on 28th September.

The full series will be:

• Adelaide - 14th September
• Townsville - 28th September
• Sunshine Coast - 12th October
• Perth - 2nd November
• Melbourne - 16th November
• Gold Coast - 30th November

Announcements on venues and dates in Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong are expected in the near future.
