AALARA welcomes new General Manager
The Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) has appointed Troy Cush as its new General Manager – replacing the outgoing Kim Hackwood-Tamburro.
Introduced to members at last week’s AALARA annual Conference, Cush joins AALARA having been Regional Manager for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland, prior to which he was General Manager – Membership Services for Queensland Master Builders.
With broad experience across the private, public and not for profit sectors, Cush intends to leverage his membership, business development, advocacy, relationship management and leadership expertise to benefit AALARA members, supporting and speaking up for businesses in the amusement, leisure and recreation industry.
He explains “AALARA is a truly invaluable resource for any business and it is my role to help our members take advantage of the services, products and knowledge that are on offer.
“The AALARA board have recently developed a three year strategic plan and have reaffirmed their goal to see AALARA recognised as the peak industry body representing the amusement, leisure and recreation Industry in Australia.
"My appointment is part of this strategy; it’s my responsibility to keep regular contact with AALARA members, making sure they get an edge from relevant industry information and take advantage of all the benefits available to them.
“I want to hear from our members about issues which hold their business back, especially if they can suggest solutions for AALARA to propose to the State and Federal Governments.”
After 10 years leading AALARA in a role that grew to her position as Executive Director, Kim Hackwood-Tamburro has embarked on a new marketing orientated career.
Commenting on her departure, AALARA President Phil Durkin stated “Kim has given AALARA 10 years of tremendous service and with her help we have seen AALARA grow into a stable, well managed organisation.
“I know we will all miss her and we can only wish her well in her next endeavour.”
AALARA members are now encouraged to contact Troy Cush on 07 3807 3508, E: info@aalara.com.au.
