AALARA to stage crisis and incident management seminars

The Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) is to stage a series of seminars on crisis and incident management.

The summer 2014 seminars, in Brisbane (24th November), Sydney (2nd December), and Melbourne (3rd December), will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to craft efficient crisis and incident management plans for their business.

Introducing the seminars, AALARA General Manager Troy Cush explains “businesses need to be prepared to handle a crisis.

“AALARA knows that safety is at the forefront of every operators mind every time they open their ride, facility or provide a service, but the reality is accidents happen.

“From understanding the concepts around risk management, what your legal options and obligations are following an incident or crisis, through to how to protect your businesses reputation and manage the public relations pressure, this seminar series is designed to help businesses prepare for a situation we all hope never occurs”

AALARA President Phil Durkin added “AALARA is a strong advocate for safety, but we also believe that companies should equally focus their attention on what to do in the event that their safety procedures don’t prevail.

“Accidents can occur that are beyond a company’s control - especially in a field where people seek thrill and ‘high-risk’ excitement.

“Thus, businesses need to prepare for what to do in the event that there is a crisis. AALARA is here to help them do so, alongside numerous industry experts.”

This seminar is essential for all business owners who are concerned about protecting their business in case of an incident or crisis.

Following the briefing AALARA will host a networking evening with refreshments provided – a great chance to celebrate with others in the industry prior to Christmas.
