AALARA launches aquatic industry issues survey
The Aquatic Industry Committee of the Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) is inviting aquatic industry professionals to participate in a survey to support its activities in lobbying on behalf of the aquatic industry of Australia.
The survey consists of eight questions covering disability access issues including the use of facilities by people with a prosthesis and the use of aquatic rides by amputees; the recent introduction of new legislation on pool signage; use of the Royal Life Saving Society Australia's (RLSSA) Keep Watch at Public Pools program and the mixing of adults with children and risks of assault.
The survey also raises questions relating to the NSW Department of Health's apparent plans to impose fines on aquatic venue where pool chemicals are not "in range" at the time of the testing.
AALARA Aquatics Industry Committee Chair Dax Eddy explains "we will use this information in our activities to better represent and lobby on behalf of the aquatic industry.
"The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
"Please be assured that your individual response will not be communicated or disclosed to anyone and we will be using the grouped up responses and totals only."

Responses are required by close of business on Monday 13th February 2012.
