24-hour Cleveland gym works brawn and brain

Gym goers are exercising their bodies and their minds at the new Stepz Fitness Cleveland gym.

The 24-hour gym chain has opened a new club in Brisbane's Bayside featuring state-of-the-art Technogym training equipment that allows users to access the Internet and watch movies while working out.

Franchisee Will Luu said the gym was already proving a popular choice for local exercise enthusiasts, explaining "I see lots of people on Facebook or checking emails, watching movies or surfing the net while they work out on our bikes, treadmills and elliptical trainers.

"Our members love the equipment because they can stay connected with the world even when they are hard at work in the gym."

The new club is open 365 days a year to members with the simple swipe of a security pass. It does not have fixed contract memberships, but instead offers membership fees which are around half the price of standard gyms.

Luu said the advantage of the 24/7 gym model was the versatility it offered to its members, adding "the secret to the popularity of 24-hour gyms is convenience, convenience, convenience.

"People can exercise at any time they want, from normal daytime hours to the early hours of the morning, when we see a lot of shift workers and students.

"We see everyone from 14 to 70-year-olds, both male and female. With such a broad range of equipment and all-hours accessibility, anyone can get involved."

Stepz Fitness Cleveland is located at 66 Shore Street West, Cleveland.
