2019 National Sports Convention to offer a fresh approach to activity and participation

Returning for its 2019 edition in July, the National Sports Convention 2019 is to present experiences of how global and local peak bodies are transforming policy and strategy focus through a systems approach, expanding their horizons to holistically embrace health, fitness, and education in a cross-sector collaboration.

Developed in conjunction with the Australian and New Zealand key sport, active recreation, fitness and facility peak bodies, the comprehensive program of conferences and events at this year’s National Sports Convention is being driven by Sport Australia, Sport New Zealand, Australia’s State and Territory Sport and Recreation Departments, VicHealth and over 20 other sport bodies who align with Sport Australia’s SPORT 2030 vision.

The National Sports Convention 2019 has been re-structured to encourage greater knowledge sharing, increased networking opportunities and more interactive sessions.

This year’s range of conference programs has undergone an expansion and restructure to allow for more discussions and cross-pollination of ideas, with the introduction of five plenary sessions, focussed on the key opportunities the industry is facing.

This year’s NSC Expo has also been arranged to offer more floor space, more exhibitors, more meeting rooms and sports activation zones. The Expo is part of the largest community sport and recreation convention in Australia and a rare opportunity to meet sports management professionals from sports groups and government.

The National Sports Convention is being held from 23rd to 25th July at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
