2015 AEG Ogden Scholarship Winner revealed at Venue Management School

James Parkinson, Auckland Stadiums’ Head of Business Improvement has been presented with the 2015 AEG Ogden Scholarship.

Presented during the recent Venue Management School (VMS) by AEG Ogden Executive Director Rod Pilbeam, this sought after industry scholarship is awarded each year to one student who successfully completes the two years of study at the VMS, and further demonstrates achievement in a range of assessment criteria.

The Scholarship has been awarded for the leading graduate from the VMS each year since its inception, and is valued at $10,000 per annum.

Parkinson will receive enrolment in the IAVM-VMS Graduate Institute at Oglebay, USA, and will also be entitled to make at least one venue visit in another city during the trip.

All travel and Graduate Institute fees will be covered by the Scholarship with AEG Ogden assisting in the arrangements for the venue visit.

Parkinson was selected due to a range of criteria including: outstanding academic achievement and application at the VMS, continuing commitment to the venue management industry, communication, teamwork and professional leadership skill.

Last year, Parkinson was also the recipient of the 2014 Ungerboeck Year 1 Student Bursary Award.

The Board of the Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) Limited [VMA], which runs the VMS, acknowledges its appreciation of AEG Ogden for sponsoring the VMS Scholarship for the past 21 years.

The VMA is also staging two pre-Christmas After 5! functions.
