2010 GetNZ Active Conference Details Announced

Following the success of its recent 2010 Business Grow seminars, staged in nine cities over 11 days, Fitness New Zealand has announced details of its 2010 GetNZ Active Conference.

To be held on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November (with pre-conference workshops on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th November), at the Auckland University of Technology

GetNZ Active is targeted at exercise and wellness professionals, club owners and managers, and sales staff passionate about furthering their knowledge.

Last year's event, also held at AUT, attracted over 400 delegates and FitnessNZ is confident this yearâs attendance will grow further.

FitnessNZ Operations Manager Nathan Burrows explains that the year on year increase in attendance "is due to word of mouth recommendations to others from previous attendees, along with innovate support such as free accommodation for those from out of town."

The conference features 75 presentations with sessions aimed at club owners and managers including:

• How to sell without having to sell - Donna Hutchinson, fitness business/marketing coach;
• 10 top website tips for clubs - Phil Benoit
• NZ Fitness Club members have their say - Simon Hall, Ezypay
• Putting the sparkle back into customer service - Donna Hutchinson
• Using underutilised gym space off peak (Girls just wanna have fun) - Julz Darroch, fitness educator and personal trainer.
• How to include wellness coaching into your business - Fiona Cosgrove, Wellness Coaching Australia
• Hunt gather and develop top level performers - Donna Hutchinson
• How 'green prescriptions' can work in the fitness industry - Kay Lindley, Active Health Manager/Health Promotions Manager/Green Prescription Area Manager at HealthWest

Donna Hutchinson will also be presenting a one-day intensive business seminar for business owners and managers on Friday 26th November. Donna uses her unique businesses systems to provide training to small and medium sized fitness businesses. Her areas of expertise include, a client centered approach to sales, creating exclusivity and demand for services and adding the sparkle back into customer service.

The event will also feature a ceremony to present the New Zealand Fitness Awards on the evening of Saturday 27th November.

Premium partners supporting the event are Creative Fitness Marketing, Ezypay and Fitness Works

GetNZ Active is designed to enhance the knowledge of New Zealandâs exercise and wellness professionals. An initiative of FitnessNZ, the health & fitness industry association, the event is recognised by the NZ Register of Exercise Professionals for Continuing Education Credits (CECs).
