2009 Australian Fitness Industry Award Winners

Fitness Australia has named the national winners of the 2009 Fitness Industry Awards of Excellence, congratulate the following individuals and businesses for their achievement and success in the Australian fitness industry throughout 2009:

Maria Osborne - 2009 Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
This Award recognises leadership within Fitness Australia.
Maria Osborne's obvious passion for the fitness industry and contribution and dedication to Fitness WA over many years, combined with her leadership skills throughout the unification of Fitness Australia made her a very worthy recipient of this prestigious award. 

Body by U Health, Fitness & Lifestyle - 2009 Australian Small Fitness Business of the Year 
Body By U Health, Fitness and Lifestyle are leading the way in managing a modern fitness business by empowering their team. As the fitness business grows, new systems are developed along with policies and procedures to ensure a high level of customer service and client safety. The key, they say, is to keep raising the bar as their business grows. Body By U Health, Fitness & Lifestyle say they are proactive, not reactive, and this has contributed to their success.

North Adelaide Fitness Centre - 2009 Australian Medium Fitness Business of the Year 
North Adelaide Fitness Centre’s reputation is based on quality, service, honesty and integrity. In 2009 North Adelaide Fitness Centre celebrated its 10th birthday and this is a milestone in any business which instills a sense of confidence in the viability of the business for the consumer. North Adelaide Fitness Centre is involved in several aspects of the community in building awareness of the role of exercise in a healthy lifestyle.

Mingara One Fitness Aquatic Wellness - 2009 Australian Large Fitness Business of the Year
Mingara One is also leading the way in managing a modern fitness business through its provision of state-of-the-art equipment and the latest in fitness technology. Mingara One has been visionary in diversifying its offering to include Mingara One Wellness services - physiotherapy, natural therapies and sports medicine practice; a beautician; a café; a hairdresser; and a health food store. The additional services offered in Mingara One Wellness have taken the traditional fitness centre model to a new level as they differentiate Mingara One as a complete health, fitness and wellness solution. PhyZeek Personal Training - 2009 Australian People's Choice Winner 
PhyZeek pride themselves on providing a flexible, fun and most of all personalised service. PhyZeekers have raised over $18,000 for the Cancer Council through participation in The Relay For Life and have donated over $2000 to other charities through participation in events such as The City To Surf, The Canberra Times Fun Run and their own events PhyZeek At The Beach and PhyZeek with Altitude.

Christine Atkins - 2009 Australian Exercise Professional of the Year 
Through a combination of commitment to positive health outcomes, ongoing training and an extensive career in corporate and community fitness programs, Christine has built a reputation for quality service among her customers. Her exemplary leadership skills, integrity, excellent rapport and extensive training have been a winning combination for Christine this year. Congratulations Christine.

Succeed Personal Development - 2009 Australian Personal Training Business of the Year 
Succeed have built an exceptional fitness brand over the last four years. Succeed has an excellent rapport with local charities, having given away thousands of dollars to local charity organizations and donations of their time to assist local charities and companies with open days and fitness sessions. The Succeed Charity Gala Ball is an annual event, and funds raised has surpassed $60,000. Succeed’s dedication to their clients and also to their community is testament to their deserving win.
