Yas Waterworld launches interactive treasure hunt

Prospective PearlMasters can join in with an interactive treasure hunt at Abu Dhabi waterpark Yas Waterworld.

The PearlMasters tournament, which started at the end of August and which runs until 22nd September, offers a quest in search of lost treasures, featuring interaction with magical sea creatures, water cannons and ancient puzzles.

Competitors take part in a real-life video game that uses cutting-edge technology to create a magical journey through the award winning waterpark. The interactive game features numerous uniquely themed Quest Items dotted around the attraction more than half of these are large-scale sculptures such as treasure chests, giant oysters, or magical sea creatures that stand alone as works of art and have elements of surprise built in to be revealed to players who successfully decipher the various clues.

The game, for a chance to win AED 5,000 (US$1,360) is offered in two languages, English and Arabic, and is perfect for guests of all ages.

To participate in the month-long PearlMasters quest, both old and new players can get themselves registered at the PearlMasters shop in the Souk and start their hunt on a level playing field at zero points. Guests need to speed through the game completing quests, looking for hidden treasures around the park and earning medallions and points in a bid to beat the competition during the limited time period and emerge the ultimate PearlMaster.

Yas Waterworld General Manager Mike Oswald explains "the PearlMasters quest has been a hugely popular attraction at the Park and we wanted to take things up a notch by raising the stakes and the prizes.

"It's unlike anything seen in a waterpark anywhere in the world and an unbelievably addictive and rewarding game."

In order to compete, players mustfirst buy a starter kit, after which they can pay an hourly fee. Registered participants will be entered into the running for three cash prizes, each of which will reward players who windifferent aspects of the game. All those who have registered will also be automatically entered into a raffle.Park guests can also participate in the regular PearlMasters quest at a lower price, where they can win smaller prizes and souvenirs.

In addition to his role at Yas Waterworld, Oswald has also recently taken up the role of General Manager of the adjacent Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
