World Skate releases Codes of Conduct for Coaches and Responsible Adults

World Skate has released binding Codes of Conduct for both Coaches and Parents/ Responsible Adults as a further commitment to their developing minimum standards in every international sphere of skateboarding.

World Skate notes “Coaches and carers play a crucial role in both the development of skateboarding and the lives of the skaters they are directly and indirectly involved with. They have a unique position of trust and the need for coaches and parents to understand and act on their responsibilities is vital, as is the need to promote participation for fun and enjoyment in a safe environment.”

Both Codes of Conduct outline the standards of behaviour expected of a person acting in either of the said roles and will be implemented at all future WSK sanctioned events.

Furthermore, the Coaches Code of Conduct will be mandatory for all coaches completing WSK (or other recognised) CEAS courses.
