WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo launches night experience to honour this year’s Earth Hour

This year in honour of Earth Hour, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo in Darling Harbour will continue to support koala conservation efforts with the launch of its first-ever Earth Hour Candle Light Dinner on 26th March 2022.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held annually, encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on a specific day towards the end of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.

Earth Hour 2022 is at 8.30 pm local time, Saturday 26th March and the movement is calling on all Australians to sign up to switch off and join a worldwide community of millions supporting stronger action on climate change.

To mark this global planet protection movement, the Darling Harbour Zoo will turn off its lights and offer guests the opportunity to dine under the glittering stars, alongside some of its resident marsupials.

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo advise “the exclusive, one-night-only, experience commences at 6pm, with an after-hours guided tour through WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. Insightful keepers will share their knowledge on the ‘Aussie Big 5, recent breeding and protection initiatives and entertaining updates on resident personalities.”

Guests will be contributing to the conservation of their marsupial dinner guests, as $25 of each ticket sold will be donated to the WILD LIFE Conservation Fund to support koala research.

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo adds “as the tour concludes to the setting sun, guests will find themselves at Koala Rooftop, welcomed with candlelight, bubbles and the classical musical stylings of acoustic cellist, Lily Innis.
