Voyages Ayers Rock Resort set for seventh Outback Marathon
Voyages Ayers Rock Resort will host the seventh Australian Outback Marathon on 30th July with organisers predicting that the endurance event will be the largest yet.
Launched in 2010, more than 400 entrants will take part in this year’s race, which has one of the most iconic dramatic backdrops of any marathon.
Looking forward to the event, Ray Stone, Voyages Executive General Manager Sales, Marketing and Distribution stated “this race in the spiritual heart of Australia is a memorable experience for both amateur and experienced runners alike.
“Four different events are available: A full marathon, a half marathon and 11km and 6km fun runs. The course is relatively flat, with only a few inclines and sand dunes. Most of the course is plotted on unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft-sand trails, with a few small sand dunes and plenty of the Red Centre’s famed ‘red earth’.”
With nine weeks to go, registrations are still open for the event.
