Virgin Active opens latest Australian club

Virgin Active is to open what it says will be “one of the world’s most innovative health clubs” in Sydney next Tuesday (25th November).

Set to be previewed to the local community and potential members this weekend, Virgin Active Moore Park embodies the “unique Virgin personality” and offers state-of-the art facilities  without long-term membership contracts.

Members can experience cutting-edge equipment, unique classes such as Piloxing or Anti-Gravity Yoga, a sparkling 25 metre indoor heated pool, and an indoor climbing zone offering new ways to climb with swivel ladders, climbing chimneys, cargo nets, speed climbs and parallel ropes.

The new club offers cutting-edge InBody Technology which will help members measure their fitness levels and give them a snapshot of their entire body composition in as little as two minutes. To help them stay on track, they can also use mobile devices to track their progress and download workout with Technogym’s MyWellness Cloud which offers a full range of web and mobile applications that can connect to Tehcnogym Artis fitness equipment.

Introducing these features, Virgin Active Fitness Manager Mark Seeto explains “new virtual applications such as the MyWellness Cloud really are revolutionary in the health and fitness space.

“It’s like having a personal trainer in the palm of your hand!”

Fitness professionals will also be on hand to answer member’s fitness questions, or help members tailor a workout program with the MyWellness Cloud. This information can also be accessed via a kiosk in Virgin Active’s Progression Zone – telling members what equipment to use, complete with directional videos, how fast to do the exercises and electronically set the equipment up.

Virgin Active’s new Moore Park club also offers Technogym Kinesis machines; the exciting V-Ride with wrap-around visuals while cycling; an extensive range of weights; a huge array of group classes to suit every level, and a range of facilities to help members relax and unwind including Mind & Body studios, a liquid therapy Aqua Lounge and sparkling clean saunas. The club also offers a range of healthy snacks at the V-Café and free internet stations.

Located in the inner Sydney suburb of Zetland, opposite Sydney’s Moore Park, the new club joins existing Virgin Active Health Clubs located in Sydney (Pitt Street Mall, Norwest, Frenchs Forest) and Melbourne (Bourke Street), with a club in Collins Street (Melbourne) due to open in early 2015.

Virgin Active is owned by CVC Capital Partners and Virgin Group.
