Victorian Government funds Mordialloc Life Saving Club redevelopment
A $3.1 million redevelopment of the Mordialloc Lifesaving Club is to be backed with a $1 million contribution from the Victorian Government.
Works will include construction of a two-storey clubhouse providing more space for club activities and equipment storage. The new clubhouse will feature an observation tower, large changing rooms and storage areas as well as function and training rooms which will be available for use by local schools and community groups.
Announcing the Victorian Government funding at the club’s Nipper’s presentation night, Victorian Minister for Police and Emergency Services Kim Wells stated “the redevelopment is an investment in community safety and will be an asset for more than 550 club members, including over 170 young Nippers as well as the wider community to enjoy for many years to come.”
Mordialloc is a popular beachside destination with more than 24,000 people visiting the beach over the last summer.
The project will begin in early 2015 and is expected to take 12 months to complete.
