Van Gogh Immersive Art Experience continues to attract large crowds in Sydney

By Karen Sweaney

With a closing date of 20th December 2020, the Van Gogh Alive immersive art experience - presented at the Royal Hall of Industries within Sydney’s Moore Park Precinct - continues to attract large crowds in a COVIDSafe environment.

Van Gogh Alive offers a fresh approach to experiencing art. Having been presented in over 50 cities, Van Gogh Alive is the most visited multi-sensory experience in the world.

Created by Grande Experiences and promoted by The M Agency and M-Live, the Australian premiere season of Van Gogh Alive has provided solid employment for over 120 arts and entertainment workers and boosted the flow-on footfall and revenues of businesses in Moore Park’s Entertainment Quarter that would have otherwise remained dormant during the COVID-19 restrictions.

The Royal Hall of Industries exhibition space has been transformed by SENSORY4™ - developed by Grande Exhibitions, SENSORY4™ is a unique system that combines multichannel motion graphics, cinema quality surround sound and up to forty high-definition projectors to provide one of the most exciting multiscreen environments in the world.

SENSORY4™ can transform any exhibition space to create a dynamic, informative and visually spectacular experience. Incredibly detailed images flow through the mass of projectors and merge with digital surround sound to saturate the space in a breathtaking immersive display.

While COVID restrictions have recently been relaxed in NSW, the Van Gogh Alive Sydney experience continues to observe COVIDSafe guidelines with all visitors required to bring their own face mask and wear it for arrival and the duration of their visit. Masks are available for purchase on arrival at an additional cost.

Temperature checks are mandatory and are being conducted prior to entrance into The Royal Hall of Industries and before experiencing Van Gogh Alive.

The experience is also delivered in a non-touch environment with hand sanitiser stations throughout the exhibition.

The Van Gogh Alive experience invites visitors to “venture into an exciting new world; forego all preconceived ideas of traditional museum visits, dispel all notions of tiptoeing through silent art galleries to view masterpieces from afar, change how you engage with art. Vitalise your senses and challenge your beliefs in a completely unique, stimulating Vincent van Gogh exhibition experience.

Synchronized to a powerful classical score, more than 3,000 Van Gogh images at enormous scale create a spectacular display that fills giant screens, walls, columns, ceilings and even the floor.

Visitors are immersed in this vibrant symphony of light, colour and sound, combined and amplified to create what many are calling ‘an unforgettable multi-sensory experience’.”

Van Gogh Alive invites both adults and children to wander throughout the space, engaging with the experience in a manner that transcends traditional installations.

Grande Experiences, the creator of the Van Gogh Alive art experience, have an impressive portfolio of travelling and permanent multi-sensory art and cultural experiences that have been visited by millions of people around the globe.

As well as Van Gogh Alive, their diverse range of blockbuster experiences includes The Leonardo Da Vinci Collection, Monet & Friends, Planet Shark, Alice – A Wonderland Adventure, and Digital Nights.

Grande Experiences note “The tradition of tiptoeing through a silent gallery or museum is forgotten as visitors interact with art and culture in ways they never imagined.”

The event is at Royal Hall of Industries, Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park with tickets on sale until Sunday 20th December 2020
