Upgrade for Centennial Park Equestrian Centre

A $1.4 million investment to upgrade the Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre Arenas has been completed.

The upgrade makes Sydney one of the only major cities in the world with a full equestrian centre in the middle of its city, plus a 3.6 kilometre horse track and equestrian grounds.

Speaking at the opening of the facility, NSW Environment Minister Robyn Parker explained that funding from the NSW Government "was used to repair the roof and replace several parts of the support structure in order to ensure the safety and integrity of the Equestrian Centre.

"It was identified the repair and replacement of several parts of the roof and support structure was vital to maintain the safety and integrity of the structure.

"Centennial Parklands was able to install an additional roof over the support arena creating another covered riding space for the centre users.

"The NSW Government is committed to Centennial Parklands vision to create a high value sporting facility which embraces the strong heritage values of the site.

"The Covered Arena is one of the most utilised facilities within the Equestrian Centre and these works will ensure this much used and loved facility open and available for the people of NSW."
