UAE plans US$953 million Al Ain convention centre

Government owned Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Co (ADNEC) has announced that it plans to invest US$953.2 million to build a convention centre in Al Ain to develop the city into a business destination.
Al Ain, about 160 kilometres from Abu Dhabi is less commercial and known for its greenery.
Construction of the mixed used project that includes a cultural centre, hotels, residential and commercial and associated facilities has begun, ADNEC said in a statement.
Shankland Cox are the architects of the project that will be built in phases and local firm Al Fara'a General Contracting is the contractor for phase one, the statement said.
