Toolkit for Sportsfield Demand
SPARC (the New Zealand Sport and Recreation Agency) have partnered with Auckland City Council to develop a Sports Field Demand Model Toolkit.
The Sports Field Demand Model aims to assist organisations in assessing the current supply and future demand for sports fields.
The Model provides a process to quantify, in terms of hours of use, current and future sports field surpluses or shortfalls. This process calculates the demand by identifying the number of teams in the city/district and calculating how much space they need to play their games and train. This demand is compared with field supply including all publicly or privately owned fields secured for community use.
