Ticketek Entertainment Group acquires New Zealand ticketing provider Eventfinda
Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG), Australasia’s leading integrated live entertainment business, has acquired Eventfinda, the New Zealand–founded ticketing and events discovery Platform.
TEG, the parent company of Ticketek, says that Eventfinda will expand its offering with fit for purpose ticketing functionality for small to mid-tier venues and events. Eventfinda, led by Co-founder and Chief Executive James McGlinn, is renowned for its attractive offering in this market segment and emerged as the ideal partner to complement Ticketek.
Cameron Hoy, Ticketek Entertainment Group's Chief Operating Officer & Head of Global Ticketing enthused “we are thrilled to welcome James and his team into the TEG family, and we’re excited by the prospect of supporting Evenfinda’s growth, not just in New Zealand but also into new markets globally.
“Having both of these trusted and successful brands under one roof will allow us to service an important segment of the live event sector with an agile, self-service ticketing platform that offers venues and event organisers the flexibility and white-label functionality they require”.
Eventfinda began in 2006 as an online events calendar and has evolved into a compelling self- service ticketing platform that empowers promoters, venues, and audiences alike. Its reliable, user-friendly and flexible technology has become a trusted solution for thousands of events across New Zealand.
McGlinn adds “we are incredibly excited about the path forward from here. This is a fantastic opportunity for Eventfinda to expand globally while still delivering the high level of service and functionality it has become known for through our homegrown technology platform.”
The benefits of the acquisition for both Eventfinda and Ticketek are significant, as Eventfinda seeks geographic expansion and further investment in its product, whileTEG becomes equipped to enter a growing segment of the market that it has not focused on until now.
Hoy explained “the acquisition is strategically important for TEG, whilst enabling Eventfinda to scale quickly – it’s a win-win for both companies and for the industry as a whole.
McGlinn shared “the key aspect of this acquisition is that Eventfinda will continue to operate under the same brand. There will be no changes to our team and clients can be assured that it’s business as usual – but with the added support of TEG.”
The acquisition is subject to customary conditions, including satisfactory engagement with the New Zealand Commerce Commission in relation to the acquisition.
