Themed Entertainment Association appoints new Chief Executive
The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has appointed Melissa Oviedo as their new Chief Executive effective from 1st October 2024.
With a robust background in TEA leadership, including recently serving as the International Board President since 2023, Oviedo is well-equipped to align the strategic goals of the International Board of Directors with the operational initiatives of the TEA staff to continue to expand TEA's presence around the globe.
As TEA continues to expand its membership and presence in adjacent industries as well as serve our over 1,600 current member companies, Oviedo 's strategic insight and innovative approach are expected to drive transformative changes for the organisation.
Through year end, Oviedo will be working collaboratively with TEA and B Morrow Productions to close out existing client obligations for BMP, in particular as it relates to their holiday programming, and allowing her to immediately fulfill the role of CEO with TEA to address timely priorities for the association.
Incoming TEA President Matt Barton of 7thSense noted “our commitment in the recruitment process was to hire a leader from within the industry who could help the International Board and TEA staff fulfil the strategic plan while at the same time identify and respond to the opportunities that are emerging from many directions. Melissa is the ideal fit, with both industry knowledge and insight, as well as a keen understanding of the current needs of the association to propel growth while also offering stability to the TEA staff and volunteer leadership collectively.”
Brian Morrow, CEO and Founder of BMP added “as a long-standing member and financial supporter of the TEA, we wholeheartedly agree that Melissa is the best choice for the future of the association. BMP supports the association as she transitions to the fulltime CEO and appreciates the out-of-box thinking of the Executive Committee to help ease the impact on our business and clients during this transition,” shares Brian Morrow, CEO and Founder of BMP.”
