Tasmania’s Discovery Rangers inspire park visitors
Visitors to Tasmania’s national parks and reserves are being offered more insight via the state’s Discovery Ranger Program led by the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service.
Aimed at enhancing visitor awareness, the program which runs at selected reserves and national parks across the state throughout summer includes guided walks, discovery tables, wildlife spotting, rockpool and rainforest rambles, and more.
There are 12 Discovery Rangers out and about this summer, at 11 locations across Tasmania.
Tasmanian Minister for Parks, Nick Duigan advised "Each ranger is skilled at interpreting and presenting our incredible Tasmanian environment, helping Tasmanians and visitors to protect Tasmania's natural and cultural values.
"Activities are tailored to the unique locations chosen for the program and are flexible to suit the weather and a diverse range of participants.
"Whether on the coast or in the mountains, there is always something to learn and share with friends and family about how we can appreciate and care for our plants and animals."
Discovery Ranger Megan said this has been her first year as a Seasonal Discovery Ranger and it's been incredible.
Megan shared "I've helped so many visitors discover and develop an appreciation for the unique flora and fauna around Tasmania which naturally leads to protecting our National Parks for years to come.”
