Tabatinga success leads to FEC franchise

With their Coffs Harbour based Tabatinga Family Fun Centre having been a major success in its three years of operation, owners Brian and Cathy Parker are developing the brand as a franchise opportunity.

The rain forest themed family entertainment and indoor play centre features mini golf, an interactive air cannon gaming system, soft play structures and early learning centre, along with a cafe.

Explaining the award winning success of the Centre, Brian Parker states "we describe our business as a Family Entertainment Centre (FEC), rather than an indoor play centre, meaning that we focus on whole families.

"In doing so, we have a facility that appeals to and attracts all ages, opening the business up to a myriad of new market opportunities which goes far beyond just the family market.

"The Tabatinga business model has been designed to appeal to many different markets which go way beyond the stay-at-home parent market.

"As the competition for leisure activities heats up, the bar is constantly being raised on the standards of attractions and facilities that are on offer. This creates a greater expectation on the part of the customer, where special effects and themed environments are almost expected.

"Many 'pay-for-play' centres are presented in a sterile environment, which have a sole focus on child energy burning play time (with) little, if any, effort made to create an environment which enhances the experience for all who enter.

"Tabatinga's theming creates the WOW effect for first time customers

"The standard of equipment is world class and will stand the test of time and much use, and the choice of themed props, artwork and sculptures is the most cost effective for the returns that should be attainable."

In developing Tabatinga Family Fun Centres as a franchise opportunity, the Parkers have been working hard with Gloria Jean's Coffees co-founder Peter Irvine Co-Founder to get our business model ready.

The frachises are suitable for both start-up FECS and and existing play centre businesses.
