Sydney Royal Easter Show welcomes more than 860,000 guests

The 2013 Sydney Royal Easter Show, which ran for 14 days from Thursday 21st March to Wednesday 3rd April, has entertained more than 860,000 showgoers.

F&B
39,700 cobs of corn were consumed while 42,000 scones were made by the Country Women's Association of NSW, washed down with 84,000 fresh lemons squeezed for lemonade. De Costi's dished up 280,000 prawns and 400,000 oysters and 35,700 tastings were poured in the Sydney Royal Beer and Wine Garden.

Children cooked, tasted and smelled 2,100 healthy meals in the interactive Cooking with Kids area. The aroma of Show-food enticed visitors to consume 40,000 cheese-on-a-stick, 100,000 chip-on-a-stick and 42,900 Dagwood Dogs.

Entertainment, Carnival and Showbags
48,000 people squealed their way through Hollywood Horrors while a further 105,800 children slipped down the Super Slide. 1.4 million showbags were sold with Skylanders Giants and Adventure Time proving favourites for the kids.

In the Commonwealth Bank Arena, monster trucks rumbled through Darcy's Quest 140 times, more than three tonnes of fireworks exploded and more than 140,000 showgoers danced to Darcy's Dance.

Animals
Showgoers saw 2,800 chicks hatch while 1,100 animals were petted and an eager 3,360 children had the chance to pat-a-pig.

In 2014, the Sydney Royal Easter Show will run from 10th to 23rd April.
