Sydney delivers a long weekend of spectacular entertainment and experiences

Sydney has seen the winter season begin in dazzling style, with the King’s Birthday long weekend delivering impressive night entertainment and experiences as part of Vivid Sydney 2025.

From 6th to 8th June, visitors flocked to the city to immerse themselves in the festival’s signature blend of Light, Music, Ideas and Food – with standout highlights including exclusive dinners with global culinary icon Nigella Lawson, music events Tumbalong Nights and Sound Escape, and crowd-favourite Vivid Fire Kitchen.

The festival footprint in 2025 spans five vibrant zones – Circular Quay & The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, The Goods Line & Inner City and Martin Place & the CBD – each hosting a unique slice of the Vivid Sydney experience.

Vivid Sydney Dinner with Nigella Lawson
Held across three sold-out nights in the new Muru Giligu Tunnel beneath Martin Place Metro Station, global food icon Nigella Lawson hosted an exclusive dining experience featuring a sumptuous three-course feast and locally sourced NSW produce, all curated in her signature style along with live entertainment and taking questions from the audience. Her appearance marked one of the most anticipated moments in this year’s festival program.

Tumbalong Nights
A celebration of global music took place on the free Tumbalong Nights stage in Darling Harbour. South Korea’s Stella Jang kicked off the weekend’s festivities on Friday followed by boundary pushing Indian pop star Zaeden on Saturday, and rounded out by Afrobeat’s finest, Grammy Award winner Dobet Gnahore on Sunday evening.

Vivid Fire Kitchen
Vivid Fire Kitchen returned to The Goods Line, and this year honouring Fire & Spice by celebrating bold, spice-driven cuisines from around the world. Crowds flocked to enjoy flame-seared feasts, live cooking demonstrations from top pitmasters and chefs, and the vibrant sounds of Lolo Lovina’s Gypsy Caravan Stage. The high-energy, open-air experience was a sensory celebration of culture, community and cuisine.

With less than a week left until the festival wraps on Saturday 14th June, visitors still have time to experience Vivid Sydney’s dazzling Light Walk and dynamic live events.
