Swim coach Scott Volkers committed to stand trial on indecency charges

Swimming coach Scott Volkers has been committed to stand trial on five counts of indecent treatment of a child.

Queensland Police arrested and charged the high profile coach in October last year over the alleged offences relating to two girls under the age of 16 in the 1980s.

The offences allegedly occurred in the Brisbane suburbs of Aspley and Bald Hills.

Volkers (pictured) did not enter a plea at today's hearing and did not comment on leaving the Brisbane Magistrates Court with his lawyer.

He was employed by Swimming Australia and Swimming Queensland until 2010.

He will stand trial in the District Court in Brisbane at a date to be fixed.
