Survey to assess skills priorities for fitness, recreation and sport in Queensland
For the first time, employers and industry representatives can ‘have a say’ on their skill and training priorities to inform the Queensland Government’s investment in vocational education and training (VET).
To ensure a direct link for employer feedback into the State’s VET investment, the Ministerial Industry Commission (MIC) has been established to connect with business and consult on industry and regional specific needs.
As the peak body for workforce development for the Fitness, Sport and Recreation Industries in Queensland, QFSR Skills Alliance has partnered with the MIC to ensure our employers/industry members have a strong voice in setting the skill priorities and are well represented to inform future VET investment.
To ensure industry sectors are represented and that the survey incorporates views from a wide cross-section of the industry, QFSR Skills Alliance invites fitness, recreation and sport clubs and associations, to have a say through the Skills Survey.
The survey aims to identify industry skills and occupational priorities, VET qualifications in demand, and gaps in labour and skill supply, as well as analysis of training delivery against industry requirements.
The aim of the MIC is to gain valuable business insights to ensure training investment aligns with future employment needs. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the fitness, sport and recreation industry’s requirements, they need to hear from as many individual employers and industry representatives as possible (including small, medium and large businesses).
All fully completed surveys will go into a draw for a voucher (of the organisation’s choice) to the value of $250 towards the purchase of equipment or resources for that organisation.

Survey can be undertaken up until Friday 7th November.
