SurfGroms program features on more than 1.5 million jars of Vegemite

The world's first junior participation surfing program now features on more than 1.5 million jars of Vegemite now on sale in Australian supermarkets.

Vegemite SurfGroms allows youngsters five to 12 years old an opportunity to learn to surf while developing strong ocean awareness and beach safety skills at a very influential period in their lives that they will enjoy and embrace for a lifetime.

The SurfGroms program marked Vegemite's first sports sponsorship for almost 90 year and since its launch in September 2011, more than 8,000 children have enjoyed the program.

Now it will be hard to miss the SurfGroms at breakfast tables as Australians fuel up for the day with Vegemite on toast.

Surfing Australia Chief Executive Andrew Stark explained "it is fantastic to see our Vegemite SurfGroms program hitting the shelves of supermarkets an d household breakfast tables via the on-pack promo of 1.5 million jars of Vegemite.

"This strategy will gain valuable awareness across Australia of the new kids surfing program and its link to iconic Aussie brand Vegemite.

"We thank Vegemite for their commitment to the program through this particular promotion."
