Summit to showcase the new era of community engagement
To be held in Sydney on 10th and 11th November, the inaugural Community Engagement Summit is setting out to present what is best about the new era of community engagement, showcasing brand new insights and showcase best practice community engagement techniques.
The two-day conference will provide the next generation of engagement and consultation with cutting edge technologies and innovative methods featured with presentations from 18 industry experts. The event is ideal for all community engagement, project management and communications professionals with community engagement examples ranging for open space, leisure and recreation, to town planning, child care and arts.
Attendees will gain an insight into successes of new technologies such as the recent Pokémon Go phenomenon and how this technology can be used to engage and reach audiences in new and exciting ways.
A presentation on 3D printing will detail how 3D models be used in community consultation, creating a clearer picture.
The summit will also feature Virtual Reality and how it can be used to put the stakeholder at the center of the project development process.
These new ways of presenting information allow communities to more accurately see and understand information, reducing misunderstandings and leading to better quality feedback, better-informed decisions and increased stakeholder confidence.
The Summit will also delve into how to reach the ‘hard to reach’ and how to combine traditional consultation methods with innovative technologies to produce a holistic engagement program. Attendees will also learn the foundations for effective public speaking and presenting to an audience, an essential requirement for every community engagement professional.
Introducing the Summit, Darius Turner, Managing Director of event organiser Community Engagement Consulting Australia explains “the summit comes at a vital time for Local Government, as many councils progress through the amalgamation process and transition to more streamlined business models.
“At this time community engagement is more important than ever, and communities are increasingly becoming harder to reach and effectively engage and consult with.
“Through the summit we aim to arm attendees with the leading tools, techniques and strategies to create actively participating communities.”
Early bird discounts for Summit registrations are available until 3rd October.
