Spotify’s 2025 ‘Turn Up Aus’ delivers for fans and spotlights strength of Australian music
Spotify has closed out the final of its 2025 Turn Up Aus fan events having over four months, staged three intimate, fan-first shows with Spacey Jane, ONEFOUR and Alison Wonderland. The event brought together more than 1,200 fans while spotlighting its ongoing investment in the Australian music industry.
Launched earlier this year, the Turn Up Aus brand campaign is the latest evolution of Spotify’s 13-year commitment to Australian music. The initiative celebrates homegrown talent through a comprehensive program spanning marketing, programming and platform initiatives. The live concerts served as tentpole cultural moments that brought this commitment to life.
Spotify Head of Marketing, Rosie Rothery noted “Turn Up Aus is about spotlighting the strength of Australian music, while giving top fans a rare and personal experience with the artists they love. It is part of our platform-wide commitment to Australian music, with investment across playlists, marketing, and these unique fan events. From Spacey Jane's intimate in-the-round performance, to ONEFOUR’s exclusive album launch event in Western Sydney, through to Alison Wonderland’s immersive GHOST WORLD underground rave, these events highlight how Spotify is supporting local artists both on and off platform.”
•Spacey Jane opened the series with a free show at Sydney’s Events by Alpha on 9th May. Fans were able to step inside the band’s world through a nostalgic visual gallery experience built from their archives, including never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage. The event marked a throwback moment to the intimate venues the ARIA winners started out performing in, with the ballot-only ticketing creating a coveted, fan-first moment.
•ONEFOUR followed with the launch of their third studio album If That Makes Sense in Western Sydney, with Spotify joining as a brand partner to add to the group’s vision for the event. The fan event included a roaming marching band performing tracks from the new album, guest DJs, a basketball court and barber shop, and a Spotify graffiti wall. Spotify also flew one of the band’s top Australian fans to attend. As a group that is typically distanced from brand partnerships, the collaboration was a rare opportunity, enabled through Spotify’s album release partnership.
•Alison Wonderland closed the run on 21st August in Melbourne with Alison Wonderland presents GHOST WORLD. Set up like an underground rave at Flinders Street train station, the secret CBD performance immersed fans in visuals from her forthcoming album GHOST WORLD, combining a rave with her creative world. Alison has been a constant force in Australian dance music, with her Spotify streams growing by an average of 11% every month for the past 13 years. The event reinforced her enduring global influence while celebrating her local roots.
