Sportspeople completes Qatar Athlete Development Pathways Project
Sydney-based human resources experts Sportspeople have completed a major project in Qatar, assisting with the international search for 35 technical experts to write high level, sport specific Athlete Development Pathway Models.
The development of the Qatar Athlete Development (QAD) Pathway is a Qatar Olympic Committee Project that sits within the Nation’s Sport Sector Strategy linked to the Qatar’s 2030 Vision. The project was funded by the Qatar Olympic Committee and led by a team within the ASPIRE Academy.
From being appointed in June 2014, Sportspeople dealt with nearly 1,000 candidates from 38 nations who applied for the 35 roles. Of the 35 final appointments the geographic spread was from North America (38%), Europe & UK (31%) and Australia and New Zealand (31%).
Sportspeople has received advice this week that the project has now been completed and an official handover to the Qatar Olympic Committee is due shortly.
Overall, the project delivered 40 technical models for 30 sports, an ‘athletes with impairment’ guidelines book and a QAD encyclopaedia.
Sportspeople congratulates the Technical Experts for their work in developing and writing the models and the ASPIRE Academy team, Hazem Fareed, Scott Richardson and Melanie Longdill for their expert guidance and commitment to the project.
