Sportscover launches sport and leisure travel insurance
Sportscover is launching a new travel insurance product specially designed for the needs of people travelling for sports and leisure activities. The new product will be sold from Monday 15th March 2010.
Chris Nash, Chief Executive of Sportscover Australia, explained this was a natural progression for the insurer, stating "Sportscover covers millions of people for their sports and leisure activities all over the world.
"Therefore, it's a natural progression for us to provide cover for these people when they are travelling around the world for their sports and leisure activities."
Although well known for sports insurance in Australia, where it has been an established market leader for over 20 years, Sportscover has been rapidly expanding both its geographic scope and the range of policies over the past five years.
It is a true Australian success story - since setting up a Lloyd's syndicate in 2006 it has become a leading provider of sports and leisure insurance across the world. Travel insurance will now be sold in addition to Sportscoverâs Personal Accident, Liability, Property and Contingency products.
Nash continued "often people may find that their standard travel policy is not adequate when they are travelling specifically to play sport or engage in leisure activities.
"This new group annual policy will give people more options, and with the backing of our Lloyd's A rated security, it really does fill a gap in the market. In developing the product our aim was to make sure that it will dovetail nicely with our Personal Accident wording for our existing clients.
"We believe that it will be a very successful addition to our range of sports and leisure insurance products."
Australian owned Sportscover is one of the world's leading sports and leisure insurance services groups with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, London and Toronto. Using a worldwide broker network, Sportscover specialises in accident, liability, property and contingency insurances for sport and leisure. As a Lloyd's syndicate, SCS 3334 benefits from Lloydâs market rating and is the only A rated dedicated sports and leisure insurer in the world.
