SPASA participates in National Skills Week
The Swimming Pool and Spa Alliance of Australia (SPASA) is set to showcase career opportunities in the aquatic and recreation industry during its involvement in the upcoming 'National Skills Week'.
Now in its third year, National Skills Week, which runs from 26th August to 1st September, is a collaborative approach dedicated to raising the status of practical and vocational learning, enabling all Australians to gain a greater understanding of the opportunities, their potential and how they contribute to a successful and modern economy.
SPASA has been a pioneer in education and training for the swimming pool and spa industry since 1997 having educated over 5,000 learners since our inception of which 2,400 learners have been awarded formal qualifications.
During National Skills Week, SPASA is inviting the industry as well as new entrants to drop into its headquarters in Parramatta, NSW to learn about industry related courses, career pathways, employment options or upgrading of qualifications in the swimming pool and spa industry.
SPASA currently offers the following National Qualifications:
Cert III - Swimming Pool Repairs, Servicing & Interior Finishes
Cert III - Swimming Pool and Spa Service (New)
Cert IV - Swimming Pool and Spa Service (New)
Cert III - Swimming Pool Building and Installation
Cert IV - Swimming Pool & Spa Building
Work Safely In the Construction Industry (Construction Induction)
The event will be held from 10am to 6pm on 27th August.
The event will also explained Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) which can be applied for where an individual believes they have the necessary skills to satisfy individual unit performance criteria.
Physical evidence will have to be supplied to prove you have the necessary knowledge and skills. Evidence may include; work documents, testimonials from employers, other qualifications, demonstrating tasks, interviews and assessments.
Individuals unable to attend the event can discuss aspects of their personal or organisational training needs.
